I began by researching the principles of Bauhaus and Swiss Design, focusing on their approach to typography and how they balanced form and function. With this foundation, I started sketching and digitally crafting each glyph, ensuring that the design was both minimal and legible. The process involved multiple iterations, testing the readability and visual harmony of the typeface.
Once the typeface was finalised, I created letter blocks that formed the basis of the artists’ book. These blocks were arranged to emphasize the geometric precision and simplicity of the design. To complement the book, I also designed a type specimen poster that highlighted the unique features of the typeface, demonstrating its functionality across different contexts.
The final outcomes—a minimalist typeface, an artists’ book, and a type specimen poster—successfully met the challenge, allowing me to expand my understanding of typography while creating a cohesive and visually striking project.
